Bishop’s Message

Easter 2024

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Greetings and peace in the Lord!  Happy Easter!

“Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified.  He has been raised; he is not here.” (Mark 16.6)

Every year we celebrate the highlight of the Church’s year and the highlight of our Faith lives as Christians – the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead.  While those early disciples of Jesus first thought that something was amiss when they saw the empty tomb on Easter morning, the Church sees it as confirmation that Jesus has indeed risen.

Talk of eternal life or a life hereafter is no longer something imaginary or elusive.  It is real and pledged to us as Christians by Jesus.  St. Paul affirms this in his Letter to Colossians: “When you were buried with Him in baptism, you were also raised with Him through faith in the power of God, who raised Him from the dead. (Col 2.12)  Every Easter we affirm our conviction in eternal life and every day thereafter, we strive to live that conviction in our daily lives

May God bless you this Easter and Easter season, and fill your hearts with the longing and hope of eternal life that Jesus promises.

 Sincerely in Christ our Lord,
